<image:caption>Internal Family Systems (IFS) model encourages the eights C’s as individuals gain more awareness of their parts: Confidence, calm, compassion, courage, creativity, clarity, curiosity, and connectedness. IFS divides our parts into two categories: Protective parts and the parts that are protected and hidden away, known as the Exiles. The protective parts are divided into two types: Managers (protective parts) and Firefighters (reactive parts). Learn more about the ins and outs of IFS by visiting Tracy’s website Inside Out Spiritual Living.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Resistance Meditation Therapy (RMT) is broken into a three-part series and is generally deployed over a few weeks. Alma has begun tailoring the meditation to the needs and characteristics to each group with whom he is working. Most recently, he has been in talks with DPD to provide RMT their officers. Stay tuned on those details! Pictured: Rev. Dr. Clay Brantley (far left) and Alma with the Dallas Police Department (DPD) following a presentation on RMT. RMT includes: Phase 1: Exposure to triggers Phase 2: Affirmations and grounding Phase 3: Restoration and writing new narrative Alma works with groups and individuals to utilize RMT like a workout regime. The idea is to build up one’s tolerance and resilience to deal with life triggers instead of avoid them. Sleep as well as exercise and nutrition recommendations are also made for those who go through his program. While anyone can participate in RMT, it can be especially transformative for people working and living in high-stress and trauma situations.</image:caption>

<image:caption>“I have a longing to research what was going on 300 years ago in the country and in this part of Texas,” says Landowner Arva Tatman. “The tree is very special. I am really hoping to create a space near and around the tree to connect with the history and to enjoy the ancestry of the land.” Tatman grew up in Iowa and lived on a farm until she was just six months old right before her family moved into town. With cousins, aunts and uncles living on nearby farms, she was still able to spend much of her childhood enjoying time on their land. She always felt close to God out in nature. While being with and on the land is part of her, it wasn’t until later in life that her love of nature and getting out of the city became more consistently part of her story once again.</image:caption>

I share this, because it touched my heart, as it serves as such a good reminder. Whatever and however you are this Christmas season, and for those who don’t celebrate Christmas, I still offer these words and story, because it is grounding. My heart tells me he might have been saying: All we need is love. All we need is each other. All we need is God. We have all we need. Amen!</image:caption>

<image:caption>HOW DO WE KNOW WE ARE FOLLOWING OUR RHYTHM AND RULE OF LIFE? Joy, abundance and relationship will be present. PRAYER: We will pray daily, tend the house with a rhythm of prayer: morning, midday, and evening. Stop and pray with those seeking prayer and invite and honor all offerings of prayer. HOSPITALITY: We will welcome all to the table providing a safe space for authentic relationship. We will provide time and space for relationship with God and one another, and we will invite play into our work. SPIRITUAL COMPANIONING: We will accompany one another to take a long loving look as we tend the interior space of garden of the soul. We will seek and savor the fruit of the Spirit in all things.</image:caption>

Interpersonal - This is referring to the individuals’ experiences with others and in groups. Systems and Structures - This area is dealing with how the self relates to and with formal sets of rules, regulations and relationships. Nature - The arena of nature invites our attention to the interdependence among all the creatures in the universe and the ways in which we the individual is connected to it all.</image:caption>
